Over-Fridge Wine Storage
The gap above a fridge is warm and awkward, which makes it ideal for a rack of bottles you will drink this month — and nothing else. We build it honestly rather than pretending it is storage.
What this one is
One page inside the by room and position group — the 400 mm above the fridge. What follows is how it meets the wall, how the rows are pitched, and what the drawing has to settle before anything is cut.
Where it goes
It fixes to the wall, which keeps the floor clear and puts the bottles at eye level.
It is open, with no glass and no back panel.
Bottle fit and cradle pitch
Capacity for this model runs 9 – 24 bottles. If your count sits outside that band, the band moves rather than the room: the module count and the cradle pitch are what change, not the finish or the frame.
Depth is 300 – 400 mm. The measurement that matters is the bottle, not the cabinet: a Burgundy bottle lying forward needs more than a Bordeaux one, and a magnum row needs more again.
What the drawing fixes
Everything on the drawing comes back to four numbers: width 600 – 900 mm, matching the appliance; height 300 – 600 mm; depth 300 – 400 mm; capacity 9 – 24 bottles; lead time 20 – 30 days. Before you order a over-fridge wine storage
Is it safe to store wine above a fridge?
For a few weeks, yes. Long term, no — the fridge rejects heat upward and that is the worst place in the kitchen for a bottle. We say so before we quote.
Open or closed?
Closed. An open rack above a fridge collects dust and warm air; a glass door at least keeps the dust off.
Can you match the width of my fridge?
Yes, we build to the appliance dimension you give us, including the 20 mm each side that the manuals always ask for.
