Black Frame Grid Bottle Wall
A bottle wall drawn as a grid of equal cells, black frame, no glass, so the wine is read as a pattern across the wall rather than as rows on shelves.
What the photographs show
A wall divided into equal rectangular cells, each one holding bottles, black frame between them. The grid is regular from end to end and the bottles fill it, so the wall reads as texture from a distance.
What the build had to solve
A grid is unforgiving: every cell has to be the same size, and the wall has to be square enough to keep it that way. The frame is built as a lattice on a jig, set to the narrowest width reading with a 40 mm scribe at each end, and the pitch is chosen so one bottle shape fills a cell properly rather than three shapes fighting.
What to copy, and what to avoid
Worth copying: building the lattice on a jig. Worth avoiding: a grid drawn to an average wall — the last column always shows the error.

What clients ask about a room like this one
Why open rather than glazed?
Open storage is cheaper, easier to clean and lets the wall read as texture. Glass is added where a room needs the dust kept off or the bottles kept out of reach.
Can the grid be lit?
Yes, with a strip behind each vertical, which turns the wall into a lit grid at night. It is drawn at the same stage as the lattice so the cable runs inside it.
