Library and Reading Room Bottle Racks
A study lined with books and bottles in the same run of joinery, where the wine sits inside the library rather than in a separate room off it.
What the photographs show
A room lined with shelves, books on some bays and bottles on others, armchairs pulled up, and a desk or table in the middle. The wine is stored where it is read about, which is the whole idea.
What the build had to solve
Mixing books and bottles in one run changes the structure: books are dense and bottles are heavy, so the shelf spans are shorter than a pure bookcase, and each bay is loaded to what it actually carries. The bottle bays get a cradle pitch and a lip so a bottle cannot roll out when a book is pulled next to it.
What to copy, and what to avoid
Worth copying: a lip on every bottle bay. Worth avoiding: deep book shelves for bottles — a double-depth bay hides the back row and nothing comes out of it.

What clients ask about a room like this one
Will books and wine be happy together?
Books prefer drier air than a cellar. If the room is a study and not a cooled cellar, bottles keep fine for months; a long cellar-ageing collection belongs in a cooled room.
Can the bottle bays be swapped for shelves later?
Yes, if the bays are drawn on the same module. It is worth deciding the module at drawing stage rather than rebuilding later.
